How it builds a Buy Box map of the country
One ASIN, fifty states, in about sixty seconds
Open the tab and choose coverage
Open any Amazon US or Walmart item and scan all 50 states plus DC in one click. For a targeted check, Customize scan lets you pick states on a map or add preset regions.
Start a live scan, state by state
Flashpricer checks the listing against a delivery ZIP in each state and records the Buy Box winner. The map fills in as results land while the scan runs in the background.
View your key metrics and Buy Box map
See the lowest, highest and median winning price, plus a Concentration Score for how contested the listing is. A leaderboard ranks every seller by share of states, color-matched to the map.
Dive deeper into any state
Each state shows its Buy Box price, delivery time, fastest offer and FBA or FBM. Expand one for where the winner ships from and how many offers competed. Export the map as PNG or PDF, or the table as CSV.
Why "you have the Buy Box" can be an expensive half-truth
Owning the Buy Box on Amazon is no longer a yes-or-no answer
Stop celebrating partial wins
Amazon reports that you're in the Buy Box whether you've won 3 states or 43. Find out which of your "healthy" listings are collecting only a fraction of the sales you assumed.
Know what a price move buys you
Scan before and after a price change to see how many states flipped, which sellers gave them up, and whether it was worth it. Margin decisions become more science than guesswork.
Win the states that carry volume
Half the map is not half the money. California, Texas, New York and Florida move far more units than Alaska, so a majority can still miss the states that matter.
See if price is what's actually beating you
With delivery times and seller rating beside each result, you can tell whether you're facing a pricing problem or should focus on reviews or the distribution of your FBA stock.
A live scan on a real client listing, recorded start to finish
Fifty cents moved a third of the country
Amazon's API showed our client as the Buy Box owner on an ASIN selling about 1,000 units a month. The map showed 20% of states, lost to a rival $1.37 higher who delivered two days faster. We cut the price fifty cents, rescanned, and the client came back at 58%.
Included with every plan
Buy Box by State credits come with your plan
Every Flashpricer plan includes fresh credits each billing cycle. One credit scans one state, so a full sweep of all 50 states plus DC uses 51 credits.

FAQ
Buy Box by State FAQ

Isn't the Buy Box the same everywhere?
No, and that's the whole reason this feature exists. Amazon awards the Buy Box based partly on how fast an offer can reach the buyer, and delivery speed depends on where inventory sits relative to that buyer. A seller with stock on the East Coast can win the Northeast and lose the Mountain West on the same listing at the same price. Amazon's API flattens all of that into a single national answer, which is why two sellers can both be told they "own the Buy Box" on the same ASIN.
Which listings can I scan?
Amazon US listings with an ASIN and Walmart US listings. Buy Box by State appears as a tab in the item's detail drawer on the Products page for any eligible item in your catalog, on both marketplaces.
How long does a scan take?
About a minute for all 50 states plus DC. It runs in the background, so you can close the drawer and keep working, and the results view appears when it's done. A live progress panel shows states completed, credits used, and estimated time remaining.
What does a scan cost?
One credit per state, so a full sweep of all 50 states plus DC is 51 credits and a targeted five-state check is five. You're only charged for states that return a result; failures are free. Every plan includes credits each billing cycle, from 51 on Spark to 510 on Elite. If you need more, add-on credit packs start at $7 for 500 credits, roughly nine full scans, and larger packs bring the cost down to about $0.25 per full scan. Purchased credits never expire.
Is the data live?
Yes. Each scan is an on-demand check run at the moment you request it, not a cached or modeled result. That's what makes the before-and-after test work: push a price change, rescan, and see the effect on ownership right away.
Can I export a scan?
Yes. Download the ownership map as a PNG or PDF to drop into a report or client deck, or export the per-state table as a CSV with the winner, price, delivery time, fastest available offer, and max quantity for every state.
Do I have to scan every state every time?
No, and for most day-to-day use you shouldn't. Customize scan lets you pick exactly the states you want by clicking the map, adding a region preset, or searching by name. If your volume concentrates in a handful of states, scanning just those is cheaper and answers the question you actually have.
What does "No Buy Box" mean on a state?
It means Amazon returned no Buy Box winner for that state, which is a valid outcome rather than an error. It's different from a failed state, which means the check couldn't be completed. Failures cost nothing and can be rescanned on their own.
What do Dominated, Split, and Fragmented mean?
They're the Concentration Score levels for how contested a listing is. Dominated means one seller is taking most of the states. Split means a few sellers are sharing the country. Fragmented means many different sellers are winning in different places. It's a fast way to tell whether you're up against one serious competitor or a crowded listing, which usually calls for a different pricing approach.
Does map share translate into sales share?
Closely enough to plan around, though not exactly. If an ASIN sells about 1,000 units a month and you hold half the map for most of the month, expecting somewhere near half the revenue on that ASIN is a reasonable working estimate. It isn't precise, because high-volume states pull more than their share, which is exactly why the map shows which states you hold rather than just a percentage.
Does this work with repricing strategies?
It helps you build one. Buy Box by State is a diagnostic: it tells you what you actually own and what a price move is worth, and it doesn't change prices on its own. What you learn from a scan informs the strategy you set in the repricing engine, and you can rescan afterward to confirm the automation is holding the ground you wanted. See how Flashpricer helps you win the Buy Box.
